Sporty Casuals for Warmer Winters

This season, I have been gravitating to more athleisure-inspired looks. Prior to graduate school, one would always find me in sneakers, cozy joggers and a casual t-shirt or crew neck. Of course, I had to adjust my wardrobe to incorporate more business professional attire but I have missed the more sporty looks of yesteryear. As a result, this spring, I will begin incorporating a lot more of my existing sporty athleisure pieces and showing them some more love. In addition, it’s always nice to shop your own closet and I have been challenging myself to think more outside of the box. It becomes really easy to pick up the same outfits in a haste but I want to try mixing things up a little more.

I absolutely love the simplicity of Levi’s 501 Tapered jeans and decided to build my outfit around this piece. These jeans are extremely versatile and can be styled in a variety of ways. Plus, these jeans have been sitting in the back of my closet for AGES. It was time to take them out for a spin. On this particular day, I was feeling a little more cozy and decided to pair my denim with a cropped black crew neck that I recently purchased from Urban Planet in Miami.

From here, I needed to spice up the look since my makeup turned out a little more intense. As a result, I decided to accessorize using a black beanie, black Adidas crew socks, a black belt with additional holes punched in (#petitegirlproblems) and my dependable “Old Skool” platform Vans. Lastly, I threw on a very, warm bomber jacket from Zara for additional warmth.

Later on in the evening, I switched out the beanie and threw on a cropped, olive sweater for a laid-back and cozy feel. Since it got cooler, I switched out the bomber jacket for a more substantial jacket and was ready to take on the cold night chill. I even ended up discovering that I am not as terrible at ping pong as I thought I was. What a relief!

P.S. I have partaken in the Vans Challenge and they do land right-side up every time. Except once.
